Position Summary:
The Educational Developer is responsible for a wide range of activities related to the development of instructional resources and teaching-related professional development activities for faculty
Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) director and team to develop and facilitate events and activities for faculty (e.
g.
, workshops, learning communities, forums, trainings, book discussions, etc.
) with an emphasis on evidence-based teaching practices, high-impact learning experiences, and recognition of faculty achievements
Provide logistical and communication support for CETL events and activities
Curate and develop instructional resources for faculty
Provide direct support to faculty in using instructional software including Canvas, Respondus, VoiceThread, Kaltura, Qualtrics, Nearpod, etc.
, and in creating videos and integrating them in instruction
Communicate with faculty and support them in teaching-related areas, including evidence-based teaching practices, use of instructional technology, course-level assessments and surveys, mid-semester course feedback, content delivery, and promoting student engagement
Maintain expertise in evidence-based teaching practices and course design for university-level online, hybrid and in-person teaching
Research potential evidence-based solutions for instructional issues experienced by A-State faculty and collaborate with the CETL director and team to provide faculty support
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Detailed knowledge of content and best practices in educational development regarding evidence-based teaching practices, high-impact learning experiences, instructional design, course-level assessment, and use of instructional technology
• Ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, graduate students, and others in teaching roles at A-State
• Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in higher education, curriculum and instruction, or related area, with at least two (2) years of related work experience within a university or college setting
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Master’s Degree with additional specific training, coursework, and/or experience in one or more (1+) of the following areas: educational development, instructional design, teaching and learning, higher education, adult education, or a related field
