Position Summary:
The Loan Officer/Coordinator is responsible for providing, obtaining, processing, and packaging student financial aid information and coordinating the compiling of data for various financial aid programs based on student eligibility.
This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy
Duties & Responsibilities:
Loan Coordinator-Run Batch Jobs to upload files into a variety of databases regarding student loans
Run Batch Jobs to upload files into a variety of databases regarding data elements
Provides assistance and other resources to potential and current students, parents, staff, faculty, off-campus agencies, and student loan guarantee foundations and lenders
Supervisory/managerial responsibilities
Input documents into the administrative information system
Manage the FFEL and alternative loan programs
Oversee the return to Title IV reports, Withdrawn for Non-attendance, and reduction of hours processes
Direct the appeals and denials by coding, awarding, and cancelling aid of current students
Assist with testing the administrative information system
Participate in ongoing departmental training activities to ensure an understanding of the colleges programs, curriculum, graduation requirements, policies and procedures, resources, and services available to students, coordinating with staff in the areas of financial aid, registration, and admission, and other enrollment management services
Eligibility: Review the processing of award determinations and oversee work performed by in-house staff and third-party vendors.
Work with staff to resolve complex problems involving eligibility, funding, awarding and/or disbursement of funds
Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Other Duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures, student financial aid programs, standards and procedures, counseling and interviewing techniques, and principles and practices of money management
Ability to review and evaluate student financial needs and prepare appropriate financial aid package, disseminate information orally and in writing, collect, analyze, compile, and record data on financial aid, and supervise the work of subordinates

Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree with a major in general business or a related field
One (1) year of experience in student financial aid or related area
Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
